How to convert multiple HEIC files to JPG

  1. Click "Choose a folder" and pick the folder with your photos, or select many files with "Choose photos". On a computer you can also drag a folder onto the box.
  2. Set your options once. They apply to every photo: quality, file ending, max size, fit under, and photo details.
  3. Download one ZIP. Every JPG keeps its original name, so IMG_1234.HEIC becomes IMG_1234.jpg. If two photos would get the same name, the second is saved as "name 2.jpg" so nothing is overwritten.

On our test Mac on 29 October 2026, Chrome converted a 12 megapixel iPhone-size HEIC in 0.8 seconds, a 48 megapixel one in 3.3 seconds, and a batch of twenty 12 megapixel photos in about 4.5 seconds. Phones are slower, but nothing waits in an upload queue.

Nothing is uploaded. The conversion runs inside this browser tab, and the page is only allowed to talk to this website. To check, load the page, turn on Airplane Mode, and convert: it still works. How it works shows the full proof.

Why one ZIP file

Many converters download each photo on its own. With a big batch, the browser then stops and asks if the site may download many files, and some files can go missing. Here the whole batch comes as a single ZIP, which every computer can open with a double-click.

There is also no cap. Many online converters stop at 20, 50 or 200 photos, or make you wait in a queue. This one has no set limit because your own device does the work. The real limit is your device's memory.

Device Good batch size
Laptop or desktop computer Hundreds at once is fine
Phone 50 to 100 at a time
Older phone or tablet 20 to 50 at a time

If the page reloads in the middle of a big batch on a phone, the phone ran low on memory. Convert in smaller groups.

Settings that help big batches

  • Fit under a size such as 2 MB if the photos are going to a website with an upload limit.
  • Max size 2048 pixels makes files much smaller for sharing, with little visible loss on screens.
  • Remove location strips GPS from every photo before you share a whole album.
  • The date taken is kept in every mode, so the converted photos still sort in the right order in any photo app.

Need a different format for the whole batch? The same folder works with HEIC to PNG and HEIC to PDF.

Questions

How many HEIC files can I convert at once?

There is no set limit. A computer handles hundreds at once. On a phone, convert 50 to 100 at a time so it does not run out of memory.

Can I convert a whole folder?

Yes. Click "Choose a folder", or drag the folder onto the box on a computer. Photos inside it are converted and come back in one ZIP.

Are the file names kept?

Yes. Each JPG keeps the name of its HEIC, with only the ending changed. Two files with the same name get "2" added to the second one.

Why did my phone reload the page during a big batch?

The phone ran out of memory for the browser tab. Split the photos into groups of 50 to 100 and convert each group.

Are the photos uploaded?

No. Every photo is converted inside your browser tab and never leaves your device.

Is batch conversion free?

Yes. No account, no ads, no watermark and no paid tier on the website.

How do I batch convert on my iPhone without a browser?

The NoHEIC iPhone app converts from the Photos share sheet: free for up to 25 photos at a time, and Pro removes the batch limit.

On iPhone or iPad?

Convert right from the Photos app

The NoHEIC app adds "Convert" to the share sheet: select photos in Photos, tap Share, pick JPG, PNG or PDF. It keeps the date taken, so converted photos stay in order. No ads, no subscription: free for up to 25 photos at a time, $4.99 once for unlimited. Coming to the App Store soon.
