Support
For help with NoHEIC, email support@noheic.com and we will reply as soon as we can. Most problems have a quick fix, listed below.
Common problems and fixes
| Problem | Why it happens | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| A HEIC file will not open, or says it is damaged | It was only partly downloaded, often from iCloud, or it is empty (0 bytes) | Open the photo in Photos on the iPhone or Mac so it downloads in full, then copy or export it again |
| A 48 MP photo comes out smaller on iPhone or in Safari | In Safari and on iPhone, this converter saves photos over about 16.7 megapixels at that size | Convert on a computer in Chrome, Edge or Firefox to keep full size |
| WebP will not work | Safari and all iPhone browsers cannot create WebP files | Use Chrome, Edge or Firefox, or pick JPG |
| The page reloads during a big batch on a phone | The phone ran out of memory for the tab | Convert 50 to 100 photos at a time |
| The browser asks to allow multiple downloads | It should not: batches download as one ZIP | Allow it once, and tell us which browser you use |
| The converter does not start | JavaScript is off, or the browser is very old | Turn on JavaScript, or update the browser |
| A camera .hif or .heif file will not open | Some cameras use HEIF features we have not seen yet | Email us the camera model |
When you write, please include your device, browser and what you were converting. Do not send photos unless we ask: we never need them to help, and you may not want to share them.
iPhone and iPad app
The NoHEIC app is coming to the App Store. When it is out:
- Restore a purchase: Pro is tied to your Apple Account. On a new iPhone or iPad, sign in with the same Apple Account and restore the purchase in the app.
- Family Sharing: Pro is shared with your Family Sharing group, so family members get it at no extra cost.
- Refunds: App Store purchases are refunded by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Photo access: the app uses Apple's photo picker, so it never needs access to your full library. If you chose "None" for photo saving, allow "Add Photos Only" in Settings to save converted photos.

Questions
Is the website free?
Yes. No account, no limits, no watermark and no ads.
Do you ever see my photos?
No. They are converted on your device. We never need a photo to help with a problem.
Why does my converted photo look a little different?
iPhones shoot in wide colour (Display P3). Some apps show colours slightly differently. If it looks wrong, email us with the device and app you are viewing it in.
When will the iPhone app be on the App Store?
It is coming to the App Store. This site will link to it as soon as it is live.
