Privacy Policy

NoHEIC does not collect your photos or track you: there are no accounts, no cookies, no analytics and no ads, and photos you convert never leave your device. This page explains the few things that are logged, and why.

The short version

What Do we collect it?
Your photos and their details No. They are processed on your device and never sent to us
Accounts, names, email addresses No. There are no accounts
Cookies No. The site sets none
Analytics or tracking scripts No. The site uses none
Ads No. The site shows none
Standard server logs Yes, kept by our web host for security (see below)

Your photos

The converter, viewer and metadata tool run inside your browser. Your photos, and the information inside them such as dates and locations, are read and changed on your device only. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. The site's security policy blocks the page from sending data to any other server. How it works explains this in detail and shows how to check it.

Server logs

The website is hosted by Vercel. Like nearly every web host, Vercel keeps standard logs of page requests for security and to keep the service running. A log entry includes the IP address, the browser type and the page that was requested. These logs do not contain your photos, because photos are never sent. We do not use the logs to track people, build profiles or advertise.

The iPhone and iPad app

The NoHEIC app collects no data. Its App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected". It uses Apple's system photo picker, so it only sees the photos you choose, and saves new photos with add-only permission. Purchases are handled by Apple; we do not receive your payment details. See the iPhone app page.

Children

The site and app collect no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes and contact
